Dimsum at the tip of your fingers

WHO does not love a good dimsum?

First opened in 1993 in Cebu, Harbor City, which is owned by the Harbour City Group of Restaurants, has been offering its diners quality dimsum that are similar to the classic dimsum and tea houses of Southern China.

Dabawenyos can now have a taste of their delicious dimsum as they had recently opened their first branch in Davao City last July 29, 2017.

The restaurant offers Dabawenyos a wide selection of dimsum dishes. Best sellers include different kinds of Shaomai, Chicken Feet, Empress Roll, Spring Rolls, Stuffed Shrimps, Stuffed Taro, and Sweet & Sour Pork.

Their dimsum can be enjoyed by their Steamed Fried Rice, the famous rice topping of seasoned fried rice ladled with a rice and savory sauce.

Those dining here can also expect a different experience. Instead of servers dropping by your table to take orders, the servers wheel around a cart with your favorite dimsum. All you have to do is point which one you want.

"One of the best parts of the Harbour City dining experience is that the food is wheeled over to customers' table-sides on authentic, time-honored dimsum trolleys. This way, diners can see the wide selection of dishes as they order," said Jereme Rolida, president of the Davao Yinyang Corporation.

Aside from from the dimsum and steamed fried rice, they also wheel around their desserts and drinks.

"Davao is a developing city with a growing middle class who dining preferences are also evolving fast. We feel it's the right time to enter the market, and Harbour City has a compelling offering to satisfy the hunger and cravings of the Dabawenyos," Rolida said.

The Harbour City Group specializes in dimsum cuisine, and has a collection of brands with different service concepts. Aside from Harbour City, the group also operates Ding How, Ding Qua Qua, and Dimsum Break. To date, the group has a total of 30 stores in Visayas and Mindanao.
