Disaster office installs warning signages

THE City Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Office (CDRRMO) had installed warning signages to instill public awareness on the hazard prone areas of Zamboanga City.

CDRRMO chief Elmeir Jade Apolinario said the installation of the signages was based on the geohazard map prepared by the Mines and Geosciences Bureau of the Department of Environment and Natural Resources.

The geohazard map indicates the areas of a particular city which are susceptible or vulnerable to various geological hazards, or geohazards.

Apolinario said the warning signage they installed included the following: landslide prone, tsunami prone, flood prone, and other hazards.

He said the signages were installed in the villages of Limpapa, Sinunuc, San Jose Gusu, and Pasonanca.

The CDRRMO chief said more signages will be installed in the other villages that are prone to natural disaster. (SunStar Philippines)
