Dole-Central Luzon opens safety, health office in Clark

CLARK FREEPORT -- The Department of Labor and Employment (Dole)-Central Luzon) on Friday, October 13, opened the regional extension unit of its Occupational Safety and Health Center (OSHC) at Clark Freeport.

Dole-Central Luzon Director Ana Dione said that clients can now avail of the OSHC’s various programs and services at a convenient location.

The OSHC offers various trainings on basic occupational health and safety, construction safety and health, drug-free workplace, and work environment measurements, among others.

It also provides technical assistance on safety and health audit, tests on various personal protective equipment and occupational health examinations.

“We are pleased to announce that we now have a Dole-OSHC Regional Extension Unit housed at the Dole Clark Satellite Office here at the One-Stop-Shop Center for OFWs (Ossco) located at the Clark Polytechnic, Clark Freeport Zone. This REU is intended to bring various OSH services closer to our workers residing in different parts of the region,” Dione said.

She added that clients from Central Luzon and nearby areas need not spend more on their travelling expenses and endure the long traffic conditions in Manila just to avail of various OSHC services.

“With the existence of this unit, we can further strengthen our campaign for safety and health at the workplace as a way for life,” Dione said.

The OSHC extension office in Central Luzon is the latest and 13th installed in the country according to OSHC Executive Director Jose Maria Batino.

Other Dole-Central Luzon offices such as the Dole Clark Satellite Office, Overseas Workers Welfare Administration, Philippine Overseas Employment Administration, and Professional Regulations Commission are also housed in the Ossco in Clark. (Jerry Borja/PR)
