'Drug pusher' killed in Dalaguete shootout

A SUSPECTED pusher died in a shootout with the police in Barangay Poblacion, Dalaguete, Cebu, past 3 p.m. Wednesday, August 23.

Police identified the fatality as Melvin “Mervin” Centino Jumamil, who had been listed as a high value target in the municipal level.

His alleged cohort Ken Bryan Ocares Carusca escaped arrest.

Jumamil reportedly tried to evade the police by climbing to a roof. He opened fire using a .38 revolver at the operatives, jumped to the ground and continued shooting, but he failed to hit any member of the team.

The operatives retaliated, hitting Jumamil in different parts of his body.

They brought the wounded suspect to the Julio Cardinal Rosales Memorial Hospital, where he was pronounced dead by the attending doctor. (KAL)
