‘Drug pusher’ killed in Toledo shootout

A SUSPECTED drug pusher was killed in a shootout with the police in Barangay Don Andres Soriano, Toledo City, Cebu, at 7 p.m. Sunday, July 16.

Police identified the fatality as Rico Dismaya Camingaw Jr., who allegedly pulled out a gun and fired at the operatives, after he noticed he was dealing with police.

No police officer was hurt.

Operatives retaliated and hit Camingaw, who managed to hide in his parents' house.

The police pursued and caught Camingaw. He was brought to Carmen Copper Corporation Hospital, but failed to reach the hospital alive.

The police report did not state what parts of Camingaw's body were hit.

Neighbor Patricia Cabonita claimed she was hit in the right leg during the crossfire. She was brought to Toledo City District Hospital, but she was transferred to another hospital in Cebu City.

Operatives seized .38 revolver, two spent shells, three bullets, and 1.5 grams of methamphetamine hydrochloride or “shabu” worth P10,000. (SunStar Cebu)
