Drug suspect killed in Carmen shootout

A SUSPECTED drug pusher was killed in an alleged shootout with the police on Tuesday night, July 18, in a subdivision in Barangay Cogon West, Carmen, Cebu.

Police identified the suspect as Lemuel Gica, a native of Maslog, Danao City, who succumbed to gunshot wounds in different parts of his body.

No one from the operatives was hit during the shootout.

Also arrested was Gica's common-law wife, Maybbie Gallardo, 18.

Several packs of methamphetamine hydrochloride or “shabu,” drug paraphernalia, digital weighing scale, and cell phones were seized from them. Also confiscated was the .38 revolver with three empty shells and a live bullet in its cylinder from Gica.

Gica was rushed to Cebu Provincial Hospital in Danao City, but he did not reach the hospital alive. (SunStar Cebu)
