Eco 1 Tennis Centre officers inducted

RONALD Torres was installed as the new president of the Eco 1 Tennis Centre Inc. during the induction of new set of officers and members of the board and Christmas party held at Hermanos Grill, Juna Subdivision, Matina, Davao City, on December 17.

Outgoing president Nelson Estares, who becomes the ex officio-undersecretary, turned over the position to Torres.

"It is the time to pass on the baton to Ronald (Torres). I am now ready to pass on my responsibility, leadership and management as a president of Eco 1 Tennis Centre Inc.," he said.

Estares also said that the strength of the club is on the members of the board who dynamically serve their best.

Torres, for his part, accepted the position and gave his message as the new leader of the club.

Torres said his priority was never to become the president but to help the tennis club.

"I have been serving since I became a member of the group. I believe that anyone doesn't need to become a president to serve the club. A title doesn't make someone a leader but your action and service does. But today, I am thankful to be installed as the new president," Torres said, also thanking all past presidents and board members of the club.

He added, "A single head achieves nothing, so I am counting on your support to achieve the growth and goals we aim for the club. This is the moment to be honored and cherished."

Also inducted were re-elected vice president Randy Cenisa, English Richard Bowden elected (secretary), Ed Grapa (treasurer) and Jun Panizales (auditor) along with board members Rocky Fornillos, Ram Magtoto, Bobby Co, Boboy Te, Macky Salomia, Nonet Acain and Alro Paglinawan.

Three new members Gerardo Barrientos Jr., Harry Vanderlands of Netherlands and Paul Tozer of Switzerland were also welcomed during the event.
