AN ELDERLY woman was found dead in a farm at Hacienda Tilapas, Barangay Rafaela Barrera in Sagay City, Negros Occidental Thursday night.
Police identified the fatality as Flora Gemola, 63.
Chief Inspector Robert Mansueto, city police chief, said Gemola visited the farm that was awarded to her by the Department of Agrarian Reform earlier that day.
She failed to return home prompting her relatives to report her missing to the police.
One of her relatives found Gemola with multiple stab wounds at 11:55 p.m.
Mansueto said Gemola was probably followed by two or more suspects due to a land conflict, adding that a confrontation probably ensued between them that triggered the suspects to commit the crime.
He added that they already have persons of interest. (GYM)
