Enter the world of magic with Sirkus Salamanca

THE childhood of my generation is filled with magic and adventure, just everything a kid could ask for. Being young, it’s natural for us to be creative and imaginative about everything but part of the credit goes to television programs like, "Encantadia", "Majika", "Mulawin", "Etheria", et.al., we were obsessed about as kids.

For 2018, beginning January 21, the same network offers its newest adventure-filled fantasy series "Sirkus".

Sirkus is a family-oriented program about fraternal twins Mia and Miko who find themselves in the company of a travelling circus called Sirkus Salamanca after trying to escape from the hands of an evil villainess. On the road, the twins will discover secrets about their new-found family as well as their own identities.

Portraying Mia and Miko are two of today’s promising young actors Mikee Quintos and Mikoy Morales. Mikee, who won as the Best New Female TV Personality at the 2017 Star Awards for TV, is best known for her role as Lira in the hit telefantasya series Encantadia. Mikoy, on the other hand, is a finalist in the reality TV show Protégé: The Battle for The Big Artista Break.

After their parents mysteriously disappear, Mia and Miko will have to rely on the protection of a rag-tag group of circus performers who include a magician, a fire-breather, an acrobat, a strongman, and a clairvoyant. In the middle of this cat-and-mouse chase, the circus becomes key to revealing the truth about the siblings’ identity. They will eventually learn the reason behind the villainess’ obsession to catch them.

Joining Mikee and Mikoy in this colorful series are some of today’s brightest stars: Andre Paras, who plays the lovable strongman Martel; Chariz Solomon as the quirky clairvoyant Astra; Sef Cadayona as the funny acrobat Al; and Klea Pineda as the gorgeous fire-breather Sefira. Veteran actor Gardo Versoza plays Leviticus—the leader of the Sirkus Salamanca who will serve as the father figure of the twins.

One the country’s best actresses known for her remarkable portrayals as an antagonist, Ms. Cherie Gil breathes life to the coldhearted and vengeful La Ora.

Helping La Ora in her quest to catch Mia and Miko are her minions Luca (Divine Tetay) and Facundo (Gerard Arca).

Playing special roles are Zoren Legaspi and Angelu de Leon as the twins’ parents Miguel and Liza.

This latest Kapuso offering is created by Program Manager Angeli Atienza.

At the helm of this upcoming magical series is internationally-awarded writer-director Zig Dulay.

The new fantasy series will air every Sundays on GMA-7. (With PR)
