THE SGV Foundation urged Dabawenyos to nominate entrepreneurs, who have outstanding contribution to boost the country's economy and sparked difference in the industry for the annual search of the Entrepreneur of the Year (EOY).
The EOY Philippines 2017 program was first launched last March at the Philippine Stock Exchange Inc., Makati City.
Alvin Pinpin, partner, and assurance of SGV and Co., launched the event anew in Davao City last Friday to honor entrepreneur leaders and recognize their efforts for transforming the country's business, products and services with dedication to a higher level.
"The search is now ongoing, nomination is open until May 31 and we really do hope that we get nominations from Davao City or from Mindanao," Pinpin said.
Categories for the award include Master Entrepreneur, Small Business Entrepreneur, Woman Entrepreneur and Young Entrepreneur.
The SGV Foundation has been conducting search for Entrepreneur of the Year since 2003 to recognize the country's best entrepreneurs who demonstrate innovative mindset to contribute in pushing social and economic changes in the country.
To be eligible, a nominee has to be a Filipino citizen, must still be active in top-level management, if he or she is the founder of the business and is primarily responsible for the growth of his or her company.
The business should also be operational for at least two years. Among other successful entrepreneurs, who were awarded as Entrepreneur Of the Year are Tennyson Chen, president of Bountry Fresh Food Inc. (2010), Erramon Aboitiz, president Power Corporation (2011), Jaime Ayala, founder and chief executive officer (CEO) of Hybrid Social Solutions, Inc (2012), Ben Chan, chairman of the Board of Suyen Corporation (2013) and Nix Nolledo, chairman and CEO, Xurpas, Inc (2015).
The winner of this search will represent the country to the 2018 World Entrepreneur of the Year awards in Monte Carlo, Monaco in June 2018.
The nominees must submit a completed nomination form, audited financial statements for 2014, 2015 and 2016 along with other supporting documents to be considered for further judging.
