AT FOURTEEN years old, she has already done a lot for herself and her family.
She has been a constant honor student-her name always on the list of the top 10 students. She had also won the Miss Ford Academy of Arts (FAA) Intramurals 2015, grabbing the title, Second Princess. She is Miss Photogenic, Best in Sports and Casual attire awardee, and Damath first placer. She loves drawing, singing, dancing, and acting.
She is Erika Cyrille Abella Bocaoco-born on March 16, 2002 in Buhangin, Davao City. EC, as she is fondly called by her family and friends, is the second of two children.
“While growing up, I noticed that EC loves to dance, sing and act but since I am always away from home [because of work], I had no idea she would develop such talents. I have always been surprised by her achievements in schools as she is fond of participating in school events.
We would always be the last persons to know that she made it”, says Ricky, her father.
EC’s grandmother is always supportive of her undertakings. She would let EC join pageants for little girls. EC maybe a typically shy person but once she is asked to sing or join a dance contest; she is never hesitant to go for it and will never refuse to take any new opportunities.
Her first pageant event was in 2015 when she joined the Intramurals at the Ford Academy of the Arts, the school where she studies.
The funny part is that most of her friends and classmates call her boyish or “tomboy” because of the way she acts. The kind of tagging did not deter her from doing the catwalk on pageants and even sends gasps of surprises whenever she bags the most special awards during the pageants.
Her exposures in school activities continue and she is now actively participating in academic and sports competitions.
Last August 14, 2016, she joined Mr. and Miss Teen Cuber Model 2016 which was held at Felcris Centrale. Part of the activity was conducted by the “I am Cuber Group” in coordination with Association of Creative Talents, Inc. There, she bagged the crown and bested eight other candidates.
EC is also a member of the Ford Academy of the Arts Volleyball Team.
When not busy in school or her extra-curricular activities, EC loves to play Dota, watch anime movies over the internet, read stories in wattpad, or listen to music on YouTube.
What makes her a very good daughter is that she can stay in her room for the whole day and enjoys her own company. It is often her friends who come and visit her at home instead rather than her going out.
