The Negros Occidental Provincial Government is expecting the arrival of additional equipment for Capitol-run hospitals this year, said Leo Eusebio, head of Hospital Operations Department.
Eusebio said six to seven units of CT (computerized tomography) scan units are set to be delivered to the province has requested from the Department of Health (DOH).
The anesthesia machine at Teresita L. Jalandoni Provincial Hospital in Silay has already been repaired and is now being used, he added.
Eusebio said they are also expecting from the DOH three units of anesthesia machines.
He added that the hospitals under the Provincial Government have entered into a memorandum of agreement with some private hospitals so that patients from public hospitals can avail of the equipment and services that are only found in these private hospitals with still no cost to indigent patients.
