Family loses jewelry, gadgets, cash to robbers

A FAMILY lost an estimated P396,500 worth of jewelry, gadgets and cash to robbers, at Oasis Subdivision in Barangay Mansilingan, Bacolod City early Sunday, December 10.

Police Station 7 head Senior Inspector Ramel Sarona said they were sleeping on the ground floor when at least two men entered the house through the sliding window.

The robbers then proceeded upstairs and entered two bedrooms, where they carted away assorted jewelry worth P327,600, three cellular phones worth P57,500, bag worth P3,000, and cash amounting to P8,400.

The robbers escaped without harming the people inside the house.

The homeowner discovered the incident around 5 a.m. when she saw that the two bedrooms were ransacked.

Sarona said the robbers probably entered the village’s back portion located near a creek to avoid the security guards at the entrance, adding that the robbers possibly had a vehicle.

Sarona said they are trying to secure a copy of a closed circuit television footage.
