Farmers complete 6-month farm business training

THIRTY-three farmers completed the six-month training on farm business school (FBS) in Zamboanga del Norte, an agrarian official said.

Zamboanga del Norte Provincial Agrarian Reform Officer Mohammad Dassan Adju said the graduates are members of the Panacio, Antonino, Situbo and Tuburan Agrarian Reform Community (PANCITU ARC) in Sergio Osmena in Zamboanga del Norte.

Adju said they graduated on Tuesday, July 11, from the FBS that started in October last year.

He said the training is aimed to enhance the entrepreneurial and marketing skills of farmer-beneficiaries to run profitable agribusiness ventures.

Engineer Alfonso Tan, agrarian reform program officer, said the objective of the FBS is to teach the graduates different farming methods, create market linkages, and increase their capability in farm business management to boost income.

The FBS is funded by the Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations and is implemented by the Department of Agrarian Reform.

Its implementation is in partnership with the Department of Agriculture through the Agricultural Training Institute and the Local Government Unit. (Bong Garcia/SunStar Philippines)
