CEBUANO chess players will pay tribute to fathers with the Fathers’ Day Special Open Chess tournament on Sunday, June 18, 2017 in Robinsons Fuente.
This one-day competition will feature a 7-Round Swiss System format using a time control of 15 minutes plus five seconds increment for each player to finish a game.
The tournament is held in collaboration with the Cebu Executives and Professionals Chess Association (Cepca), the Cebu Scrabble Association Inc. (Csai), and Robinsons Fuente.
Tournament chief arbiter Fide Arbiter Marvin Ruelan announced that the champion will go home with P3,500 worth of gift certificates. The second placer will win P2,500 in certificates and P1,500 GC each will go to the third and fourth finishers.
Aside from the Open category, the top Kiddies participants will also receive P1,000, P600 and P400 in certificates.
