FedEx, JA Philippines mentor students for the 2017 Int'l Trade Challenge

FedEx Express, a subsidiary of FedEx Corp. and the world’s largest express transportation company, collaborates with the Junior Achievement (JA) Philippines to train 222 high school students from 24 schools in preparation for the FedEx-JA 2017 International Trade Challenge.

With the goal of promoting entrepreneurial interest in the youth, FedEx and JA will provide these young aspirants with training sessions and mentorships from its own experts in market research, logistics, and economics. Through the International Trade Challenge workshop, participants will be equipped with a better understanding of the fundamentals and the importance of entrepreneurship in the economic development of the country. The workshop will have students develop a business plan as a team, empowered by their new knowledge in market segmentation, pricing, promotion and distribution.

The Top 3 teams will be selected to represent the country in the 2017 International Trade Challenge to be held in Singapore on August 20 - 23, 2017. They will compete with the winning teams of other participating countries including Malaysia, Singapore, Korea, Thailand, Japan, Hong Kong, New Zealand, Vietnam, and Australia. Currently in its 11th year, the program aims to continue fostering the entrepreneurial potential and aspirations of the youth. (PR)
