THE Philippine softball team defeated New South Wales, 1-0 then crushed Victoria 5-1 to notch their 4th win in the tournament and remained undefeated in the ongoing 10th Pacific School Games at the Adelaide Shores Sports – Diamond 2 in West Beach, South Australia.
The young Pinay batters are set to face Western Australia and Queensland today.
Coach Roselle Hulleza described her team playing against tougher and bigger Australian players. “Queensland and South Australia are among our strongest opponents,” she said.
Hulleza added that despite having a team of mixed players – 8 from Bacolod and 4 players from Luzon, her team played well. “They’re like siblings. They treat each other well." (HGD)
