Fire razes 100 houses in Tondo, Manila

A HUNDRED houses were razed in a predawn fire in Tondo, Manila on Friday, the Bureau of Fire Protection (BFP) said.

The BFP said the blaze started at 3:15 a.m. Friday, May 27, at the house owned by a certain Jocelyn Miranda in Narcisa Street near Abad Santos Avenue.

At 4:24 a.m., the BFP raised the alarm to Task Force Alpha, meaning fire trucks in the neighboring towns and cities were called to help douse the inferno.

Eight persons were also hurt and another went missing during the incident, a CNN Philippines report said.

The BFP continues to investigate on the cause of the fire. (DDA/Sunnex)
