THE regional office of Department of Tourism (DOT)-Davao has invited foreign vloggers to the Visit Davao Fun Sale (VDSF) on April 16 to May 31.
During the official kick-off of the VDSF Thursday, March 9 at the Park Inn by Radisson in Lanang, DOT-Davao regional director Roberto Alabado III said vloggers from Japan, Korea, and Singapore have been invited to document and experience VDSF.
"Our airline partners are bringing in vloggers, online influencers from Singapore. We had been marketing it from the domestic level but we have started with marketing it at the international level starting last year," Alabado said.
rWith these countries' summer vacations falling on July to August, VDSF will serve as an early preparation for these vloggers' followers to check out what Davao Region can offer.
"We have an early preparation for their followers that this is what is happening in the Davao Region. The timing of VDSF with these influencers coming in and us showing what can be done here in the region is very good. We really hope they will influence their followers," Alabado said.
Earlier, he said vloggers have contributed to the booming tourism of the region. He recognized the credibility and the trust the average people put on the bloggers and vloggers alike.
Vloggers or video blogger is a person who records a video blog and upload it in the internet.
Benjie Lizada, chair of Davao fun sale executive committee, on the other hand, urged everyone to highlight the word "Davao" when posting local sceneries and adventure sites on social media found in the city and the region.
He said this will help highlight the beauty of Davao even more.
