DIRECTOR for Police Community Relations Director Wilfredo Franco expressed his gratitude to the Philippine National Police during retirement honors at the police Regional Office Cordillera Monday.
Franco, a Philippine Military Academy graduate of Sandigan Class 1982, is retiring after 38 years of service to the PNP.
Franco recalled his way up from 1978 to present saying there is no other way to get success than hardwork and discipline.
"We had a hard life but the important thing is what you learn from it," he stressed.
Franco emphasized the challenges he had gone through were all towards enlightenment and fruits of labor.
The retiring police officer added he almost quit PMA but changed his mind after a pep talk with his seniors.
Franco was also assigned in Pangasinan, Cavite, Bulacan, Leyte, Crime and Investigation Detection Group where he showed his willingness to serve and protect and was also assigned briefly as the city director of the Baguio City Police Office.
The official was given the Medallion of Kapatan sa Paglilingkod, encased personal flag, mementos, and awards during the ceremony.
As director for Police Community Relations, he has successfully mounted his PCR programs in three priority thrusts, fostering awareness, forging partnership and information operations management. He leads a PNP-wide effort to enhance individual and Unit capability on information operations, information operation management, and police community relations among all police personnel and PNP Units.
Franco is known for his exceptional performance of major responsibilities of which he implemented and sustained police community relations programs, and activities forging strong partnership with the community and other socio-civic organizations as indispensable and valuable partners in the maintenance of peace and order.
