From Lindogon shrine to basilica

THE image of the Virgin Mary of Lindogon in Sibonga town will be brought to the Basilica del Sto. Niño in Cebu City in October as part of its annual pilgrimage.

In a press conference, organizers of the pilgrimage said tit is the first time that the image of the Virgin Mary of Lindogon will make a “visit” to his son, the Sto. Niño.

In connection with the pilgrimage, the Kapandesal Multipurpose Cooperative (KMPC), in collaboration with the Archdiocese of Cebu, will organize a three-day religious event from Oct. 7 to 9.

Before the image is brought to the basilica on Oct. 8, it will first stay at the IEC Pavilion in Barangay Mabolo on Oct. 7.

Cebu Archbishop Jose Palma will celebrate mass when the image arrives. A benefit concert dubbed “It’s All About Her” will follow.

The two-hour concert will feature local singers and talents.

Mel Tadeo, KMPC board chairman, said that the proceeds of the concert will be used for the construction of new classrooms in a school in Lindogon that will cater to indigent children.
