FWD Life opens branch in Oro

THE FWD Life Insurance Company opened its first business hub in Cagayan de Oro last May 21.

"We are expanding our presence in the country to reach more under-insured Filipinos and help them achieve financial peace of mind through relevant products and services that best suit their individual lifestyles and financial needs and with this vibrant city's growing economy and population, we are confident our CdeO hub will significantly contribute to the growth and economy of our business here in the Philippines," Peter Grimes, the president and chief operating officer of FWD Life Insurance Corporation said in his speech after the ribbon-cutting ceremony for the company's new office at the Limketkai Center.

FWD Life Insurance Corporation is a part of the FWD Group, the insurance business arm of the private investment group, Pacific Century Group (PCG).

The company offers life insurance services as well as general insurance, employee benefits and financial planning. The hub, which is the company's first outside Metro Manila, will provide access to FWD Life's insurance products to more than four million Kagay-anons and residents of neighboring cities in Northern Mindanao.

The company is the first foreign life insurer to be granted a license by the Insurance Commission to operate in the country under the new Philippines Insurance Code.

"I expect my group to live by the FWD vision and brand promise... Obviously we want to do business but we want to do it in the right way... we really want to resonate with the Kagay-anons," Grimes said when asked about his expectations from the new CdeO group of the company.
