Gasataya to take oath with PDP-Laban

BACOLOD City Lone District Representative Greg Gasataya was not able to join his Grupo Progreso partymates at the oath-taking of members of Partido Demokratiko Pilipino-Lakas ng Laban (PDP-Laban) in Bacolod City last Sept. 30, but he is also set to join the administration party.

This was confirmed yesterday by Yves Akol, secretary-general of PDP-Laban in Negros Island Region (NIR), saying that Gasataya will also take his oath soon.

“He just came late because of the session in Congress but he will also join the party. There will be a second batch for those who (still want to) join the party,” he added.

Moreover, Akol said that aside from local political leaders and officials, about 30 volunteers also took their oath with PDP-Laban last week.

He added that the oath-taking of officials and volunteers from Negros Occidental as administration party members is a big help for the lobby on the budget of the NIR, which was not included in the proposed 2017 national appropriations.

“Although we are not very sure yet to get the NIR budget by 2018, but at least we are looking at it positively,” Akol said.

He added that they have achieved their goal of uniting the local political parties through their oath-taking with the PDP-Laban.
