Gerald Anderson competes in LA Marathon

GERALD Anderson successfully completed the 42-kilometer footrace at the recently concluded Los Angeles Marathon in California.

The Kapamilya actor recorded an unofficial time of four hours and 25 minutes.

According to Nhila Mallari, the actor's handler in Star Magic, Anderson became emotional once he reached the finish line.

"Reached the finished line victoriously and kind of emotional. It was a tough one and seeing you at the finished line was a proud moment. You made it!" Mallari wrote.

Anderson proudly showed off his finisher medal while donning a Philippine flag head cap.

The actor said the footrace was one of the most challenging things he has done in his life and added that he is proud that he was able to complete it.

"There were moments where I asked myself if I can finish this race, but what pushed me was the love from the fans and my team who supported and trained with me since arriving in Los Angeles," he wrote in an Instagram post.

Anderson added that it was an honor and privilege for him to represent the Philippines in the LA Marathon.

"I learned so much on this experience,” he said.

More than 25,000 athletes from 63 countries signed up for the race.

Anderson participated as the official representative and ambassador of Sketchers Philippines, the same company that sponsored and organized the annual Los Angeles Marathon. (SunStar Philippines)
