Getting groomed

MEN and women have different definitions when it comes to personal grooming. Mostly for the gentlemen, it’s hanging back, beard shaved, a little trim off the top with a head and back massage as the finishing touch at their trusted barbershop. Add the kinship shared with one’s barber and just like that, he’s a regular customer.

That’s what Cut and Shave Lounge (CSL) wants its clients to feel: a “man cave” where customer and barber can convene. It opened last week and promises two aspects that speak Cebuano: Cebuano heritage and customer service.

If it’s not the “kalesa” wheel that greets one at the reception that reminds him of Cebu, there’s also the Magellan’s Cross mural as well as the aesthetics done in collaboration with internationally acclaimed designer Vito Selma seen in the geometric patterns. It’s all fused with vintage-themed fixtures from the lamps down to the chairs.

As for the service, CSL’s team of barbers are trained by L’Oreal Professional and are equipped with cutting tools by WAHL Professionals to give its clients cuts ranging from the classics to the trendiest.

Its signature service is a cut, shave followed by a 10-minute massage with a cup of coffee afterward. Its other services include hair treatment and hair art to name a few. It also carries hair products as well as styling products by CSL like hair wax and hair pomade.

Cut & Shave Lounge is located on the second floor of SM City Cebu. Its second branch opens next month in Robinsons Place Ormoc along with 10 other branches set to open until 2020.
