THE Rizal Ballroom of Shangri-la Hotel in Makati City glowed Sunday night not only because of its class but the stars and talents of Star Magic gathered to celebrate its fourth Star Magic Ball.
This annual event is one of the most-anticipated events of the talent arm because of the biggest names it produced for the last 18 years.
The awards night was also the most celebrated part of the occasion as Star Magic reaffirms the names in the industry and recognized the contributions of the biggest names in showbiz.
“Noah” star Piolo Pascual received the 2010 Star Magic Icon award. The singer-actor was clad in a Hugo Boss suit and escorted her lady love KC Concepcion who was in a white embellished Amir Sali..
Shaina Magdayao and Jake Cuenca took home the Fashionista awards of the night. The two were with John Lloyd Cruz, in Lanvin suit, and Melissa Ricks, in Francis Libiran, respectively.
This is also the first time Shaina and John Lloyd went out in a publicized showbiz gathering together. On Jake and Melissa’s part, the two seems to confirm reports that they are currently together.
On-screen love team, Kim Chiu and Gerald Anderson also came together. Kim, who was in a Furne One gown, won the Best Dressed Award while comedian Kitkat took home the Fashion Forward Trophy.
Bea Alonzo, who was in a Michael Cinco black embellished gown, was Zanjoe Marudo’s date during that night. The “Sa ‘Yo Lamang” stars also received the Most Stylish award of the night.
Bea’s then-love team John Lloyd Cruz and Maricar Reyes also received Star Magic’s King and Queen Trophies respectively.
“Green Rose” star Anne Curtis was in white embellished Michael Cinco gown and was adorned by Janina Dizon-Hoschka’s jewelry. The actress received the Most Glamorous Award.
Anne walked the red carpet alone just like her last year’s escort Sam Milby. Though they were not together now, the two cleared that they remained friends.
“Magkaribal” stars Enchong Dee and Erich Gonzales, who was in a black ball gown by Nat Manilag, were named as the Cinema’s Most Romantic Couple while engaged couple Kristine Hermosa and Oyo Sotto were the Couple of the Night.
Jessy Mendiola and Joseph Marco were also awarded the Coke Zero’s Wild and Fit Award while ABS-CBN Presiden Charo Santos-Concio received the Most Elegant Star of the Night trophy.
Other stars who graced the event were Rica Paralejo-Bonifacio in a black Veejay Floresca gown, Kelly Misa and Jodi Sta. Maria wore a Joey Samson creations. Comedian Pokwang in Jerome Salaya-Ang, Karylle was in a Frederick Peralta gown, Toni Gonzaga, who was escorted by boyfriend Director Paul Soriano, was in a Sassa Jimenez gray creation while Angelica Panganiban wore the latest Rajo Laurel gown.
The latter came with boyfriend Derek Ramsay and the two tried to keep mum on the issue surfacing in the entertainment business now.
“Impostor” star Maja Salvador was in Anthony Ramirez gown with daring cut while Cristine Reyes wore a Francis Libiran black gown with low-back details. The actress wowed everyone with her sleek body and classic looks. Cristine was escorted by balladeer Christian Bautista.
Matt Evans and Empress Schuck came together just like Rafael Rosell and Denise Laurel. “Magkaribal” star Angel Aquino also graces the event.
