Governor orders to probe fake security guard licenses

NEGROS Occidental Governor Alfredo Marañon Jr. has ordered an urgent investigation into the report that security guards assigned at the Provincial Capitol have fake licenses.

Marañon warned security agencies working with the provincial government that their contracts will be terminated if found that their detailed personnel have licenses that are counterfeit.

The governor questioned the reliability of the security guards who renewed their licenses using fake documents.

Marañon also said that robbery incidents in some capitol offices have been suspected to be in connivance with certain security guards.

Provincial Capitol security head Venchito Magalona confirmed that about 30 guards have fake security licenses and that another one surfaced Wednesday confirming that he also availed of fake license for P4,000.

Earlier, VMA Security Training Institute, the only security guard training agency in Negros Occidental, raised alarm after discovering that an unidentified syndicate has been falsifying their company’s documents.
