Gunmen kill water firm worker

A WORKER of a water firm included in the drug watch list was gunned down by motorcycle-riding gunmen early Monday in Zamboanga City.

Chief Inspector Rolly Joaquino, Police Station 7 chief, identified the victim as Erwin Agustin, 42, an employee of the Zamboanga City Water District (ZCWD).

Joaquino said Agustin was gunned down around 7 a.m. Monday, January 15, while he was walking along the road at Sitio Pasay in the village of San Roque.

He said the suspects riding in a motorcycle sped off as Agustin fell on the pavement.

He said Agustin was rushed to the hospital but did not make it alive. The victim sustained four gunshot wounds.

He said investigation continues in a bid to unmask the suspects behind the incident. (SunStar Philippines)
