Guv will move to ‘new’ office in Capitol next month: contractor

GOV. Hilario Davide III will soon be moving to the office of former governor Gwendolyn Garcia in the east wing of Capitol’s second floor.

Last Wednesday, the winning bidder started on the renovation of the governor’s office and will finish the project in a month.

Since he assumed office last July 1, Davide has been holding office at the old session hall of the Capitol.

“Hopefully it will be done in a month so we can finally transfer to the governor’s office,” the governor said.

The renovation project was awarded to Rikda Construction and Development Corp. last Sept. 30.

The first bidding was declared a failure because the contractors lacked some of the documents needed for the bidding.

The approved budget contract for the renovation is P738,678.63.

The Provincial Board has approved a resolution authorizing the governor to enter into and sign a contract with the contractor so the latter can proceed with the project.

To ensure transparency, the governor’s office will have clear glass doors, as requested by Davide, so that all transactions inside his office will be seen by anyone from outside.
