Hail to the new Mutya

"LET us not allow society to dictate the way we look at things: the clothes we should wear, the places we should see and the kind of people we should live with. We have to be ourselves and pursue to inspire a generation of self assured individuals," said newly-crowned Mutya ng Pilipinas-Negros Island Region Louise Lian Enumerable.

The 20-year-old beauty from Murcia, Negros Occidental bested 18 other candidates to follow the footsteps of Renelyn Deguit of Ayungon, Negros Oriental, who was crowned during the inaugural search last year.

Enumerable was also awarded Mutya ng Bulk Water and Mutya ng Bong-Bong’s, among the corporate awards given during the coronation night on June 23 held in Bacolod City.

Deborah Belen Villaflores of Dumaguete City sashayed better than the others, thus earning her the Best in Evening Gown and the choice of official lens team Leo Vision, as the Most Photogenic.

La Carlota City’s bet Kennyveb Casabuena and Kabankalan City’s Trecia Tuquero were named first and second runners-up, respectively.

Other corporate award winners were Shane Pia of Moises Padilla (Best in Swimsuit) and Reygine Magundayao (Miss Congeniality).

Enumerable’s missosology includes her first runner-up finish in the Lin-ay sang Negros 2016, next to Alyssa Jimenea of Victorias City who was declared queen.

From being pageant sisters, the two became close friends, Gimenea even cheered and supported the Tourism graduate during the screenings last month.

The 19 candidates of Mutya ng Pilipinas 2017 Negros Island Region kicked off this season with a Press Presentation and Fashion Show at SM City Bacolod, followed by a swimwear competition at Tierra Alta in Valencia, Negros Oriental, and a series of road shows in Murcia and Isabela, Negros Occidental, and charity events and photo shoots to name a few.

Mutya nga Pilipinas champions “beauty tourism” as its main agenda, generally motivating local government units to promote their tourist spots through the beauty pageant competition.

Enumerable will train under a national beauty queen academy and will be housed under the management of Mutya ng Pilipinas organization as she starts “the road to the crown” next month.

Recalling her emotional victory, the newly-crowned Mutya of NIR says: “Life was never easy for me and like the most of us, I’ve been through countless ups and downs. There were a lot of times where I’ve been judged, insulted, and shattered to a point where even I doubted myself and my potentials. You may find it hard to believe but moments of fear, doubt, and low self-esteem have shaken my confidence and trust towards myself and others.”
