Hataw sang Dyes’

ZUMBA dancers from Barangay 10 emerged victorious after being hailed as the first ever champion of Gwapo ZoomBacolod Fitness Competition, a physical fitness program sponsored by Councilor Ricardo Tan of Bacolod City.

Barangay 10's entry, Grupo Hataw sang Dyes, has brought the entire local community to rally behind them in all force and vigor. It even included cult song like Macarena which made more people groove from their seats.

The grand finals was hosted by the University of Negros Occidental-Recoletos following the two qualifying rounds of what is dubbed as the biggest zumba fitness competition in Negros Occidental that aspires to promote physical fitness among mothers, senior and young people.

In an interview with its proponent Councilor Ricardo Tan for “A Listed TV” on Piaya Network, he expressed his ardent desire to campaign his programs on sports and fitness to many communities.

The Barangay 35's Team Unkaboggable gave a highly energetic performance with a striking neon orange number to match. A right combination of music alongside with a cheering crowd of supporters earned them a good score.

Manapla Northland Dancers has a four-year history as a team. It pulled off an ensemble of knee high blue socks, a yellow top accessorized with neon laces and glitters to match.

Silay City's entry pulled off a combination of deep red, gold and black. It did not disappoint as it was able to present a well choreographed number with many mothers in the team.

Cabug's wild card entry proved that they deserve a spot in the finals after entertaining the audience with a list of modern tracks. They advanced to the finals after clinching a higher score in a roster of close to 15 entries during the second eliminations.

The Barangay 6 Magnificent Squad had a number of supporters cheering endlessly in their entire performance, making the dancers highly spirited all throughout their number. This, without doubt, boosted their spirits which resulted to a runner up finish.

My personal pick, E.B. Magalona Zumba Team Blue Crabs registered the highest score during the first eliminations round. True to their name, the members were in blue and delivered a well mastered choreography.

Other winners include Barangay 6, first runner-up; Barangay 35, second runner-up); and Silay City, third runner-up.
