(UPDATED) Atlanta Hawks had 8 players who scored double digits in their homefloor in a win against the struggling Sacramento Kings with the score 126-80.
The Hawks opened the quarter with the score 18-5 as they made their first eight shots with their power forward Luke Babbit scoring 7 points by the end of the quarter.
The home crowd continued to watch the dominance of their Hawks team as they had a 29-9 run opening up the second quarter having a total of 40 points by the Hawks and holding the Kings to just scoring 19 points in the quarter leading by a large margin of 29 points in favor of the Hawks 64-35 by the end of the first half.
The second half started with the Hawks continuing to dominate with everybody in the bench playing and scoring until the final buzzer.
Despite the Hawks turning over the ball 20 times in total for the game and the King only having 12, it was their 40 assists that helped them win the game with Dennis Shroder who scored the game high 21 points and Taurean Prince scoring 14 points, both having 8 assists. The King's highest scoring player of the game was Zach Randolph who only had 16 points and 4 rebounds in his 24 minutes of play.
The Hawks were a plus 24 in rebounding against the Kings, led by Dewayne Dedmon by dominating the offensive and defensive boards to have 14 rebounds total and having 20 points. He was helped by the bench players who had a total of 50 bench points. Another thing that helped the Hawks blow off the Kings was their three-point shooting. The Hawks shot 50% from the three-point line making 16 out of their 32 shots.
The Hawks will look to continue their hot shooting as they will face the number one defensive team in the league, the Boston Celtics next. For The Kings, they will be hosting the Portland Trailblazers in the Golden 1 Center Arena in Downtown Sacramento, California.
Meantime, LeBron James scored 31 points, Kevin Love had 22 points and 10 rebounds and the Cleveland Cavaliers continued their dominance against the Charlotte Hornets with a 115-107 victory Wednesday night.
The Cavaliers have won seven straight against the Hornets and 11 of 12. James is 40-6 in the regular season against Charlotte.
Kyle Korver's 3-pointer with 1:06 left in the third quarter put the Cavaliers ahead for good at 86-84. They extended the lead to 10 points three times in the fourth quarter, first when James drove into the lane and hit a stepback baseline jumper to make it 105-95.
Jeff Green added 13 points for Cleveland, Korver had 11 and J.R. Smith 10. The Cavaliers have won three straight and four of five.
The loss was Charlotte's fifth in a row since a five-point win at Milwaukee on Nov. 1. Michael Kidd-Gilchrist shot 10 of 14 from the field and led Charlotte with a season-high 22 points, three shy of his career best. Point guard Kemba Walker had 20.
Hornets guard Nicolas Batum played his first game of the season after a tearing a ligament in his left elbow last month. He started and scored 16 points in 32 minutes, including seven straight in the second half as the Hornets took a 58-52 lead.
Jeremy Lamb added 13 points off the bench.
Hornets center Dwight Howard, who entered averaging 14.4 points and 13.1 rebounds, was limited by foul trouble and played just 23 minutes. He finished with eight points and five rebounds and fouled out with 24.5 seconds left. (Frankl Glarino, USC AB Communications Intern/SunStar Philippines/AP)
