Hospital chief: We always remind our staff to be compassionate

DOCTOR Julius Drilon, medical center chief of Corazon Locsin Montelibano Memorial Regional Hospital (CLMMRH) in Bacolod City, said they always remind doctors, nurses, and hospital staff to handle patients compassionately and with proper care.

Drilon stated this in his answer to Health Undersecretary Gerardo Bayugo regarding the complaint forwarded by Task Force Crusaders on the alleged misbehavior of some nurses towards their patients.

He explained that the hospital is fully committed to providing quality medical care to its patients. However, being a catch-basin of patients in Bacolod City and Negros Occidental the hospital serves about 700 patients regularly, resulting to an increased workload for hospital staff who carry out hospital duties and responsibilities to exhaustion.

Drilon also emphasized to the Department of Health that they would encourage complaints be directly reported to the hospital administration for the hospital to effectively conduct the proper investigation and take concrete steps as to the liability of hospital personnel concerned.

Task Force Crusaders national commander John Chiong said he is glad that Drilon answered and addressed the complaints.

“We just channel complaints to proper National Government agencies so that appropriate action will be made by the concerned agencies,” Chiong added.
