Ilog ma seeks justice for daughter’s death

A WOMAN from Ilog, Negros Occidental is seeking justice for the death of her seven-year-old daughter due to alleged negligence at the Kabankalan District Hospital in Kabankalan City.

Nancy Pajarillo, in her complaint with the Task Force Crusaders (TFC), said her daughter Ma. Cristina Pajarillo died on December 30, 2016 on their way to a hospital in Bacolod City after she was admitted at Kabankalan District Hospital for two days.

She added that the district hospital had no pediatrician and her daughter got dehydrated.

A doctor advised them to transfer to a hospital in Bacolod City, but at that time, her daughter’s heartbeat was already too weak.

She was declared dead by attending physicians at Corazon Locsin Montelibano Memorial Regional Hospital. Her death certificate showed that she died from community acquired pneumonia and acute gastroenteritis with severe dehydration.

John Chiong, national deputy commander of TFC, has forwarded Pajarillo’s letter-complaint on February 7 to Health Secretary Paulyn Jean Roselle-Ubial.
