Imelda Schweighart blames 'lack of support' for Miss Earth defeat

IMELDA Schweighart blamed the lack of support from local pageant enthusiasts for her disappointing run in the 2016 Miss Earth pageant.

In an exclusive interview with "Tonight with Boy Abunda," the 21-year-old alleged that she was not assisted during the competition and was not feeling her true self.

"I think what went wrong is that I lack support. Nobody assisted me emotionally. I'm drained from all the works and not being myself," she said.

Schweighart added that keeping a different front was just too much for her.

"I cannot be myself because you have to be this, you have to be that. Sabi ko, 'Oh my God, what's happening? Di na ako ito'. I felt it's not me anymore. Kung ano na lang yung nakikita ko, yung naririnig ko, 'yun na yung nagiging ako."

The Puerto Princesa beauty said haters and bashers will never get into her and they cannot pull her down.

She also urged them to stop being a goody two-shoes.

"Whatever you say, bumabalik lang din naman sa inyo kasi whatever comes out from your mouth, that's what you are," she said.

"People have no right talaga to trample all my hard work since no bad side of me can destroy that. I have a bad and a good side. Every person has that. Stop acting like lahat kayo si Princess Sarah," she added.

Schweighart was on the receiving end of online bashing after she criticized and accused Miss Earth 2016 Katherine Espin of Ecuador of having had plastic surgeries.

She was caught on video saying, "Yung nanalo peke ilong, peke baba, peke boobs! Miss Earth, dapat natural."

The former beauty queen is still standing by her statement even though she had publicly apologized to Espin.

Schweighart said she's happy for Miss Ecuador, saying the crown is really destined for the latter. (Sunnex)
