'Implement reinstatement of 15 Talisay employees'

THE Task Force Crusaders for Democracy has asked the Civil Service Commission (CSC) to implement its decision reinstating the 15 dismissed employees of the Talisay City Government in Negros Occidental.

National deputy commander John Chiong said in an interview Monday that he will hand carry the letter for CSC Chairperson Alicia de la Rosa-Bala.

He added that he attached a letter to the complaint of the 15 dismissed employees regarding the cases they have filed before the CSC local and regional offices that already made the decision to reinstate them.

"We can't do anything if this has something to do with politics in Talisay City. This is only about the employees who have nothing to feed their respective families," Chiong said.

Maria Corazon Robles, president of Talisay City Government Employees for Reform, said they were dismissed from service on August 2016.

They were granted regular status of employment during the incumbency of former Mayor Eric Saratan in 2016, but most of them have been working with the City Hall for 10 to 15 years already.

Robles said the CSC-Western Visayas already ruled their reinstatement and payment of back wages and salaries.

However, only 10 out of 15 dismissed employees got the reinstatement order from the CSC.

The City Government under Mayor Neil Lizares filed a motion for reconsideration which stalled the reinstatement of the 15 employees.

Talisay City legal counsel Kirk Ealdama said the motions for reconsideration filed by both parties were already forwarded to the CSC central office.

"They have the right to ventilate their claims to any organization and we fully respect that. As for the City of Talisay, we will wait and obey the outcome of the case," he added.
