MANILA -- Tropical Depression Inday, the ninth tropical cyclone to enter the Philippine territory this year, has maintained its strength while over the East Philippine Sea, said the state weather bureau Wednesday.
It was located as of 10 a.m. Wednesday at 620 kilometers east of Basco, Batanes, packing maximum winds of 55 kilometers per hour (kph) near the center.
By Thursday morning, Inday will be at 410 kilometers northeast of Basco, Batanes, said Pagasa.
No public storm warning signal has been raised anywhere in the country, as Inday will not affect any part of the Philippines. But the tropical depression will enhance the southwest monsoon, which will bring occasional rains over Metro Manila, Calabarzon, Mimaropa, Bicol Region, Cagayan Vallet and the provinces of Zambales and Bataan, said Pagasa.
