THE Department of Trade and Industry (DTI) through the Export Marketing Bureau (EMB) will conduct a series of information sessions under its Doing Business in Free Trade Areas (DBFTA) program, a press statement from DTI said.
Romel Amihan, senior trade and industry development specialist, said that for Negros Occidental-based exporters and micro, small and medium enterprises (MSMEs), the information session will be held on August 4 at the Sugarland Hotel in Bacolod City.
The sessions are being conducted after the recent approval of the Philippines as beneficiary under the European Union Generalized Scheme of Preferences Plus (EU-GSP+).
These information sessions aim to raise awareness about the opportunity and benefits of EU-GSP+ to Philippine exporters and the country in general.
Due to limited seats available, Amihan said preference will be given to exporters, suppliers, and manufacturers of the country’s key merchandise exports to European Union such as animal and vegetable fats and oils, prepared foodstuffs, textiles and garments, footwear, headwear, umbrellas and chemical products.
Those who wish for more information may call the DTI provincial office at 433-0250, 434-7920, or 704-2203. (EPN)
