THE National Police Commission (Napolcom) placed Isabela City Police Station (ICPS) under the administrative supervision and operational control of the regional office in Zamboanga Peninsula.
The move came after the Napolcom approved the request of the Isabela City Council to place ICPS under the Police Regional Office (PRO)-Zamboanga Peninsula, headed by Superintendent Billy Beltran.
Previously, ICPS was placed under the administrative control of PRO-Zamboanga Peninsula and operational supervision of the PRO-Autonomous Region in Muslim Mindanao pursuant to an order dated March 15, 2002.
Beltran welcomed the decision of Napolcom as it will rectify such dysfunction in the police organization since both administrative and operational supervision now lie with the PRO-Zamboanga Peninsula.
He stressed that the organizational lines of authority and supervision constitute a departure from management standard and the principle of unity of command.
PRO-Zamboanga Peninsula is now composed of Zamboanga City Police Office, Zamboanga Del Norte Police Provincial Office, Zamboanga Sibugay Police Provincial Office, Zamboanga Del Sur Police Provincial Office, and ICPS. (SunStar Philippines)
