Isuzu drives ‘Blue Power’ models in Bohol

AFTER its series of launching event both in the Luzon and Visayas regions, Isuzu Philippines Corporation (IPC), brings its latest lineup of Blue Power Isuzu D-MAX and mu-X for a three-day ride and drive event in Bohol.

From November 8 to 10, IPC together with select motoring media drove the new D-MAX and mu-X models in a special performance and feature testing event headed by IPC’s chief executive, Hajime Koso.

“Our recent product introduction wouldn’t be completed without putting these units to the test, and we couldn’t think of a better setting other than the very picturesque roads of Bohol. With its naturally hilly terrain, plus the combination of urban and rural roads – our Blue Power models are sure to the perfect companion in this kind of drive,” said Koso.

The Blue Power D-MAX and mu-X now carries the new 4JJ1-TCX EURO 4 engine that can deliver up to 177 PS and has a maximum torque of 380 N-m.

Engineered with Blue Power technology, these models are now capable of providing maximum engine output, superb fuel economy - all the while maintaining Isuzu’s renowned engine durability.

Due to its advanced design and technology, the engine noticeably has less noise and vibrations, making each drive smoother and more comfortable.

Driving up and down the hills of Bohol is a breeze, thanks to the D-MAX’s new Hill Start Assist feature, while the Hill Descent Control which enables the driver to operate even at a steep terrain is available for both models – adding to its safety and driver assist features.

A trip is not complete without the company of friends and family, this time with the Blue Power D-MAX and mu-X, passengers can expect improved comfort, starting with the D-MAX’s new soft-pad and piano-black interior accent; plus, the addition of multiple USB ports that are located on different areas inside the cabin.

The mu-X has a new instrument panel with MID and an 8-inch entertainment system with USB link and text to speech navigation. The mu-X’s cabin interior now boasts premium leather quilt-stich design seats and door trims, while a sophisticated blue ambient light and piano black garnish are found on each door.

The most noticeable upgrade for the mu-X is found on its face with the new Bi-LED projector headlamp with integrated day time running lamps that are equipped with auto-headlight leveling which assist the driver’s visual while on the road.

Complementing its new headlamp, the mu-X has a redesigned chrome radiator grille coupled with the aerodynamically designed front bumper. For better visibility, Isuzu gave the mu-X new horizontal type with LED positioning rear lamps. Finishing its new look, the mu-X now runs on a newly designed 18-inch aluminum alloy wheels, giving it better stance and smoother ride.

“The Isuzu D-MAX and mu-X Blue Power carries our most advanced engine to date, coupled with the latest features in each segment, we are confident that these new models will satisfy the ever-changing demands of the Filipino market,” Koso added.

The 2018 Isuzu D-MAX 3.0L LS is available in Venetian Red, Cosmic Black, Titanium Silver, Splash White, and Obsidian Gray paint colors. Prices are pegged at P1,320,000 for the D-MAX 3.0L LS 4x2 M/T; P1,390,000 for the D-MAX 3.0L LS 4x2 A/T; P1,650,000 for the D-MAX 3.0L LS 4x4 M/T; and P1,720,000 for the D-MAX 3.0L LS 4x4 A/T.

The 2018 Isuzu mu-X 3.0L LS-A now comes in the new Havana Brown color along with its existing color lineup of Cosmic Black, Titanium Silver, Obsidian Gray and Silky Pearl White. Prices starts at P1,648,000 for the mu-X 3.0L LS-A 4x2 A/T; P1,958,000 for the mu-X 3.0L LS-A 4x4 A/T; additional P10,000 will be added for the Silky Pearl White color. (PR)
