Jericho Rosales no problem being 2nd choice in projects

ACTOR Jericho Rosales doesn't mind if he's the second choice to play a role in an upcoming Kapamilya primetime series.

The "Alagwa" star will be working opposite Maja Salvador, JC de Vera and Angel Locsin for the first time in one teleserye.

According to Echo, they've done one promo shoot together but they need to retake it on October 18.

"Actually nag promo shoot na kami, but we just have to do it again because I think there are some changes, that's it."

Sources said that Jericho's role was originally intended for actor Paulo Avelino, but for unknown reasons, it landed on Jericho's feet.

When asked to comment on this, Jericho said "God is controlling everything."

"The way I look at it, it doesn't matter kung sinong pinalitan mo or kung may pinalit ka ba or something, if it's fit for you, it is fit for you. It happened to me so many times," said Jericho.

Jericho shared that Piolo Pascual's "Dekada 70" role, where Piolo got his Best Supporting Actor trophies in Gawad Urian, PMPC Star Awards for Movies, Luna Awards and Gawad Tanglaw, was really intended for him.

But he needed to beg off from the project as he was doing "Pangako Sa 'Yo" in 2002 with perennial on-screen partner Kristine Hermosa.

Jericho said, "It is really the producers' vision and tingnan mo din naman 'yung naabot nung show."

"Pangako Sa 'Yo" is the most syndicated Filipino series on television. It was released in Cambodia, Thailand, Singapore, China, Cameroon, Botswana, Kenya, Ghana, Namibia, Uganda, Zambia, Tanzania, among others.

In Malaysia alone, it garnered 50.8 percent rating, higher than any other syndicated series in Southeast Asia.

It also opened doors for Jericho and Kristine in the Malaysian television market. Last year, the actor confirmed that there were offers for the two of them to do a series in Kuala Lumpur.

Right now, Jericho is busy promoting the commercial release of "Alagwa," which won him Best Actor/Outstanding Acting Achievement at the Newport Beach Film Festival in the United States last May. (Sunnex)
