KARYLLE revealed her husband, Sponge Cola frontman Yael Yuzon, is a feminist and does not mind her recent kiss with comedian Vice Ganda.
In an interview with Darla Sauler for "It's Showtime Online," the television host/singer said Yuzon supports her showbiz career.
"Yael is the kind of guy na pinapagalitan niya ako dahil hindi ako marunong mag-drive. And as a feminist, he's saying that I need to be independent. Ayaw niya na backward na mindset. Gusto niya you are independent," she said.
Yuzon earlier replied to some of his followers on Twitter after Karylle was criticized for locking lips with Vice Ganda at "It's Showtime Kapamilya Day" last Saturday at the Smart-Araneta Coliseum in Quezon City.
Yuzon said his wife neither seek nor need his permission for whatever she plans to do with respect to her showbiz career.
He said that the segment was “all in the name of fun” and “that’s what actors do."
Yuzon has a brother who is into theater.
"Palagi kong sinasabi sa kanya, kung ako naging ikaw, kung nagkabaligtad kami ng posisyon, I wouldn't be as understanding of him kung isa siyang actor. (Pero) kasi lumaki siya na ang kuya niya nasa theater, so yung ang mindset niya. Kung umarte siya sobrang magseselos ako. Pero siya, sobra niyang naiintindihan ang acting," Karylle said.
The singer also explained that the surprise kiss with Vice Ganda was really part of their live music video performance.
"First time na nangyari iyon, it was in 'Sine Mo 'To' parang hindi yata gets ng iba na it is part of the show. Tapos siyempre kapag Lent may mga drama nagiging love team din kami doon so parang lumakas ng lumakas 'yung team up," she said.
"We always joke about it but I never know if it's going to happen or not. Hindi ko lang alam kung saang part mangyayari."
Karylle hopes that people would stop spreading negativity out of the kiss. (Sunnex)
