Kathryn Bernardo 'leaves INC, converts religion'

KAPAMILYA talent Marlann Flores dismissed speculations that Kathryn Bernardo converted to another religion after the former shared a photo claiming the teen queen "accepted Christ as her personal savior".

Flores' recent Instagram post sparked speculations that Bernardo is no longer a member of religious group Iglesia Ni Cristo (INC).

In the said post, Flores and Bernardo, together with close friend Trina Gutingco and Pamu Pomarada posed for a photo with the caption: "Kath and Trina both received Christ today as their own and personal Savior! Praise be to God! This year has been fruitful already! Let's proclaim God's name with boldness and conviction."

One of Flores' followers asked if Bernardo is now a Catholic, to which the latter replied, "I didn't convert them to any religion. They have their own faith and practices. I just share them the gospel."

The photo further questioned Bernardo's current affiliation with INC after publicly campaigning for presidential candidate Mar Roxas while the religious group announced on Friday their support to Davao City Mayor Rodrigo Duterte and Senator Bongbong Marcos.

INC requires its members to vote as one, in accordance with the church's belief and their push for unity.

Bernardo has yet to speak on the matter. (Sunnex)
