Keep surroundings clean,CEPMO advised park goers

THE City Environment and Parks Management Office (CEPMO) is appealing to tourists not to litter.

CEPMO department head Cordelia Lacsamana said tourists should use trash bins in disposing waste.

“Nag-aadvocate tayo na garbage in garbage out ang policy natin. What you bring in ay dapat ibasura sa tamang lalagyan. Hindi kakayanin ng mga park personnel natin yung volume na mage-generate during the season kaya we are appealing to the public na sana tumulong sila. Whatever you bring to the park sana iuwi din as part of the domestic waste,” Lacsamana said.

The official added CEPMO is currently working on double shifts just to maintain the cleanliness and orderliness of the park.

“We appeal to the public to be more responsible for the little ways that they generate hindi basta may kaunting basura diyan pwede nang itapon. Pwede namang ilagay sa bag at ibasura sa bahay o sa park receptacles na lang,” Lacsama said.

Garbage has doubled up during the holidays specially within the city parks, according to Lacsamana adding CEPMO has also mobilized security personnel in the different parks of the city to apprehend smokers.

As early as 4:00 a.m., CEPMO starts collecting garbage in all parks in the city.

“Let not the individual selfishness prevail kasi what you might doing as individual might affect the entire community kaya let us project that we are disciplined citizens of the Philippines. It is purely on attitude. If we really want to enjoy the beautiful ambience of the park, maki-cooperate tayo para lahat enjoy. Sana ang pagmamahal ng mga taga-Baguio ganun din sana ang pagmamahal ng iba,” Lacsamana ended.
