THE landslide which claimed the life of a mother and injured two kids will be investigated.
Engineer Nazita Bañez of the City Building and Architecture Office has ordered an investigation of the collapsed riprap at Pinesville Subdivision in Barangay Kias.
Bañez ordered the probe Friday to check on building and occupancy permits given to the structure which fell on the adjoining house.
On May 24, a landslide occurred in Block 34, Lot 14 of Pinesville Subdivision, where a riprap collapsed, hitting the home of Jemma Mendoza
Mendoza died in the incident while her son Lenary and nephew, Nathaniel were both injured.
Bañez said the incident will be investigated to determine the cause of the collapse.
The city has called on the contractors undertaking road improvement projects in the city to ensure that safety measures are always in place to avoid any danger and inconvenience to the public. (Maria Elena Catajan)
