SINGERS from Negrense Group Kulay Pikata have serenaded the orphans of Holy Infants with theme songs from children cult classics in an afternoon that is both entertaining and emotional.
A great opportunity to spread love and hope on the 24th of December, it was an overwhelming feat to see children enjoy despite their disheartening stories.
This is the second event in the stretch of outreach programs coordinated by the singing group as they focus to volunteer works and “inspire the less fortunate, especially children with the gift of music.”
With decades of experience in entertaining people from all walks of life, Kulay Pikata is more than trained to handle “sensitive and delicate” audience, thus, making sure of every word and song they extend to the crowd.
The group has been joined by KP1, the young singing ambassadors of Negros who are currently under the management of Kulay Pikata. It was even more emotional for the younger generation of singers since it was the first time for most of them to visit an orphanage.
While on lenses, I could not hold back my joy and emotions to see these abandoned and neglected kids jump for joy and express happiness. Most of them are even clingy, a manifestation of their desires to at least, secure brothers they can call family.
Kulay Pikata is being supported by other affiliations to enact their outreaches in Negros Occidental.
For this special interaction with children, the singers suited as Santa Clauses in full gear. What’s a party without gifts? Of course, it came a little handy as each child received snacks, a bag of candies, gifts, Christmas items and even a special citation from North Pole with Santa’s signature “for being a good and nice kid in town.”
Holy Infants Nursery has been established to take care of orphans. It has tapped the community in Sum-Ag to serve as guardians and parents. It continually seeks for partners and sponsors to help feed and take care of the needs of the home.
Kulay Pikata has vouched to be its partner in fostering its children and educating teens and families in Bacolod to plan their pregnancies.
KP is scheduled to pursue another outreach program this month, a fitting stance in its desire to spread happiness in communities.
