Kris Aquino says goodbye to ABS-CBN, confirms APT deal

IT'S official.

Kris Aquino is no longer part of ABS-CBN.

The television host finally broke her silence early Monday, September 12, regarding her ties with ABS-CBN and reported new deal with Tony Tuviera's APT Entertainment.

Aquino recalled in a three-part Instagram posts that she was supposed to renew her contract with ABS-CBN February this year but there was a threat to her life and she needed to take a break to regain health and spend time with her family.

She didn't sign any contract with channel 2 and went to Hawaii with her children, Joshua and James Jr.

"Our agreement was we'd talk when I got back. That is the risk of taking time for yourself -- when you come back there's no guarantee that a space will be held for you."

Both parties then had a meeting in July but Aquino said the station neither has a definite show nor an assured timeframe for her return.

"I perfectly understood -- as much as I wanted to believe I was a pillar of the network, everybody is dispensable. And I say that with no bitterness - just HONESTY."

Then came the deal with APT Entertainment.

Aquino shared her best friend, Boy Abunda, who also handles her endorsement deals, reached out to Tuviera.

They initially discussed digital content but later on ended up with some sort of a television comeback for her.

"Working overtime & what was an attempt at something new & experimental, evolved into a vision & a presentation that felt perfect for who I am now & for our TV collaboration," she said.

Aquino added: "Dumating na ang TAMANG PANAHON."

Even though the television host failed to reveal her lineup of projects under APT Entertainment, she did mention in a prior post that she will resume taping on September 22.

Aquino said she will take a few days off before returning to work and will spend some quality time with her kids.

She's hoping for understanding and support from her fans and only has gratitude to ABS-CBN for the two decades of partnership and trust.

"Thank you to the Kapamilya Network ABS-CBN for all that was, and here's a shoutout of thank you to my new APT family for all that will be. And most of all my thank you to all of you for allowing me to just be me," Aquino ended. (Sunnex)
