Kris Aquino to celebrities using drugs: 'Stop it!'

QUEEN of All Media Kris Aquino does not condone celebrities using illegal substances and urged them to seek help.

In a recent interview with the television host, she said that with the long work hours and the pressure from their job, if one doesn't have a strong support system, it is easy to go astray.

"Imagine yung buhay namin, that every move you make is under a magnifying glass, a microscope. If you don't have a strong support system, may iba kang sasandalan. At yung iba escape ang hinahanap. Maling escape," she said.

She added: "Ang hirap ng trabaho, ang hirap ng work hours, kung wala ka pang support system, hindi ko sinasabi na tama yun, posible talagang malaglag ka doon and you need people to help you to rise up."

Aquino explained that it is understandable that showbiz personalities are in the front line of the government's campaign against illegal drugs because it will garner more attention from the public.

"Naiintindihan ko na for us to talk about this drug manace, kailangan celebrity ang pag-usap kasi bibigyan mo ng 10-15 minutes sa news dahil kilala yung taong involved."

She said that with the arrests reported in the news, those who continue taking illegal substances should stop.

"If you are still into it, matuto ka na. Stop it. Then voluntarily dalhin mo na ang sarili mo sa rehab. Linisin mo ang sarili mo or the ones that loves you, linisin ka nila."

The TV host said they should own up to their mistakes, learn from that experience and do something to restore their life.

She said the issue on drugs does not only concern those addicts, but everyone has a role in rebuilding lives.

"Sana matuto tayong lahat. Tulungan natin. Wag na natin palakahin and spare the children."

Aquino added that there's life after drugs. (Sunnex)
