Kyokushin Karate, a new sport to try

HAVING your own exercise regimen is a prerequisite to a healthy looking, fit version of yourself but what if you up your confidence more with some special self-defense skills?

You can hit two birds with one stone through choosing martial arts like Kyokushin Karate as your way to attain your fitness goals.

Senior student at Kyokushing Davao City Dojo, Jeston Marc Misterio said Kyokushin Karate training is an intense physical training that develops determination and self-discipline.

"Definitely you can use Kyokushin as weight loss program since it has rigorous physical training, then each training, you have a different program. Weight loss can only be a bonus because you can learn a whole lot more like executing proper punches and kicks for self-defense," he said.

He said since the training is hard, it does not only develop determination and perseverance but also character and self-discipline.

Kyokyushin Karate is a martial art founded in Japan by Masutatsu Oyama in 1964.

The art has been derived from Shotokan Karate and Goju-ryu, which are the other styles of karate. Unlike other martial arts, Kyokushin is well known for its full-contact style of fighting meaning no armor is worn during tournament competitions, only a groin cup for men or breast guard for women.

Kyokushin Davao City-Dojo is a member of Kyokushin Karate-do Philippines, which is considered as one of the few karate organizations recognized by International Karate Organization based on Tokyo, Japan.

Misterio said those who would like to enjoy free three trials of Kyokushin Karate can contact 09167721405 or can leave message at Kyokushin Karate Davao City-Facebook Page.
