La Castellana employee tested positive for drugs

A JOB order employee of the municipal government of La Castellana in Negros Occidental was found positive for illegal drug use during a surprise drug test in the town last Monday.

A total of 154 job order casual employees and 22 personnel of La Castellana Municipal Police Station underwent the drug test.

All the town’s policemen were tested negative of illegal drugs.

La Castellana Mayor Rhumyla Mangilimutan said in an interview with ABS-CBN Bacolod it is her discretion to impose a sanction on the said employee.

Last February, the municipal government conducted its first surprise drug test where five regular and casual employees were found positive for drugs. All have already resigned.

4 nabbed for drugs

In another development, four persons were arrested in separate drug busts in Negros Occidental last Tuesday.

In Victorias City, Gerry Torreña, 31, of Wet Market, Barangay 19-A, Canetown; Bernie Torreña, 33, of Hacienda Sta. Cruz; and Jelon Padonio, 28, of Barangay 20, yielded four sachets of suspected methamphetamine hydrochloride or “shabu” and drug paraphernalia.

Arrested in Ilog town was Jade Samodio, 18, of Purok Masagana, Barangay Tabu for sale and possession of illegal drugs.

Confiscated from Samodio were two sachets of shabu and drug paraphernalia.
